The Art Therapy Student Scientific Circle (ATSSC) was established by Maja Stanko (MA) in November 2008 at the Institute of Psychology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in collaboration with The Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and The Art Therapy Student Scientific Circle at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin in Poland.
Due to the fact that there is no art therapy studies in Poznan, members of the ATSSC are students of different faculties (such as: Psychology, Pedagogics, Musicology, Art History, Artistic Education, Foreign Languages, Rehabilitation and Economics), who are interested in art therapy. We meet once a week to broaden our knowledge in the field of art therapy. The main goals of the ATSSC are:
- reading publications, giving lectures, preparing presentations and discussing different aspects of art therapy.
- exchanging ideas and experiences connected to art therapy, collaborating with people and organizations working in the field of art therapy
- preparing art therapy workshops and artistic workshops for ATSC members, children and adults
- organizing and taking part in meetings with experts
- presenting information about art therapy events on the web site
- developing art therapy in Poland and contributing to world art therapy development by writing articles, making research and presenting findings
During first six months of our activity we achieved some of that goals:
· we attended five conferences in Poland (gave lectures on art therapy, presented posters and participated in workshops)
· we prepared several workshops ( ex. for disabled children in the care center and during the students’ art festival in Poznan, made presentations and discussions, met invited guests, established collaboration with some organizations and associations etc.
LATEST NEWS: we are preparing the conference "Between Psychology and Art" which will take place at the Institute of Psychology, on the 26th of February 2010 in Poznań
We are looking forward to collaborate with universities, associations, health centers and individuals working in the field of art therapy.
